February 27th, 2021 from 9:30am to 12:00 noon (Eastern Time Zone)
One of the five touchstones of Illuman is Centering. During our time together we will explore what it means to Center Down!
Join the men of Illuman of Indiana and Michigan on this mini-retreat for an introduction to Centering Prayer.
Why would I want to practice Centering Prayer? Is it difficult? What are the challenges of Centering Prayer?
During our time together, we will draw on the wisdom of Howard Thurman, Cynthia Bourgealt, Thomas Keating, Richard Rohr and others.
This mini-retreat will have a teaching component, allow time for reflection and include our much-beloved small-group council circles. We hope you will consider joining us as we attempt to keep our edges hot during this long winter and time of Pandemic isolation.
Please come join us!

A note from our conveners:
Brothers, it has been a trying and long 2020. The Elder Council for Illuman of Indiana-Michigan has struggled to find ways to be present to you our brothers in our two states. We have grieved over our loss of face-to-face contact, and brainstormed ways to fill in this gap. For 2021, we have decided to offer some chapter sponsored virtual retreats as we wait for the wider opportunity for vaccination to take place. Although this is a sorry stand in for face-to-face gatherings, we feel it will allow us all to have a sense of presence and support for one another. We have all participated in Zoom gatherings with family, friends or work. In its own meager way, we have seen its benefits. We are hoping this will remain to be true as we use this technology for these get togethers – at least for the time being.
